Laurie is responsible for leading the development and execution of an expansionary ag investment strategy. Her focus is on building and leading the Canterra team to collectively source investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, negotiate and execute farmland transactions, and oversee property management activities including leasing and capital improvement programs to optimize the assets under management.
Laurie has over twenty-five years’ experience on the financial side of agriculture, real estate and investment businesses. Her family farmed near Killaly, Sask.
Laurie is a CPA, CA and has her icd.d designation. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Matt is responsible for due diligence and deal execution at Canterra and oversees the finance function of the farmland portfolio.
Matt’s career has focused on global M&A spanning the value chain in agriculture from primary farm input retailers to processing facilities and export terminals. While at Viterra, he was involved in over $8 billion of corporate transactions and played a key role in corporate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures across Canada, the U.S. and Australia.
Matt has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina, where he majored in Finance, and holds the Chartered Business Valuator designation.
Originally a native of Montreal, Matt now calls Regina home.
Murray’s primary focus is our tenants, and building strong relationships with them. Murray is the third generation operating his family farm in Saskatchewan and as a result he understands first-hand the day to day challenges and operations of farming. In addition to handling all Canadian leasing activities post acquisition, Murray oversees and executes property management activities including annual farm visits, managing crop shares, inventory and grain marketing activities.
Murray attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan and farms just outside of Regina.
Lisette provides administrative and paralegal support to the team. She performs land titles searches, drafts purchase offers and lease agreements, does our record keeping for land under management and liaises with third party legal counsel.
Lisette has eight years’ experience working in the real estate department of a top tier legal firm in Regina. Prior to moving to Saskatchewan, Lisette worked in commercial real estate in the United Kingdom.
Manager of Finance
Jenn manages all aspects of our accounting and finance needs, for both Canterra and our investment vehicles.
Jenn holds her CPA designation and has public accounting experience working at Virtus Group LP while pursuing her designation, and industry experience working as the Divisional Controller at Natural Specialty Crops. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Regina.
